It seems popularity has taken a negative turn for Bigg Boss Telugu winner Shiva Balaji as the actor has become the latest victim of cybercrime. The actor filed a police complaint in Hyderabad on Sunday on behalf of his wife, actor Madhumita, after she allegedly received abusive messages on her Facebook account. The complaint was lodged with the Cyberabad police, and the Cyber Crime department is looking into the case.

“The case has been booked under relevant sections of IT Act and investigation is going on to trace the identity of the suspects, ” said Cyberabad DCP, Janaki Sharma to Telangana Today.

However, this is not the first time when Shiva Balaji or his wife have faced such a situation. The actor reports that they have been harassed online earlier too. This happened almost a year ago when Shiva Balaji took a selfie from the sets of ‘Katamarayudu’ and posted it on Facebook. A senior official was reported saying that they were trying to recover the IP address through which they could track down the accused.

Shiva Balaji, famously known as the angry young man in the Bigg Boss house, became the first winner of the first season of Bigg Boss Telugu, a reality show where the actor lived with 13 other contestants in one house.

He was competing for the titled with four others including Archana, Adarsh, Navdeep and Hariteja. Out of the total votes, Shiva alone bagged 3,34,3,170 votes and was chased closely by Aadarsh who fell short of just 9000 votes.
