Thirteen Afghan policemen killed in Taliban attack

At least thirteen policemen have been killed in a attack in Afghanistan's northern Kunduz province.

A number of insurgents attacked a police check post in the district at around 3 am, reported Khaama Press, quoting official.

Hayatullah Amiri, district administrative chief of Khan Abad district, near where the attack took place, confirmed that only one policeman escaped the battle alive.

The militants also managed to take away with themselves several military equipment, said Amiri.

According to reports, spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid claimed the attack.
