VIJAYAWADA: The row over the felicitation programme of Professor Kancha Ilaiah christened Sangheebhava Sabha in Gymkhana Grounds organised by Social JAC and the counter attack planned by Arya Vysya Brahmin Ikya JAC in the same venue watered down as both the parties held a peace meeting on Saturday.

Representatives from both the parties attended the peace meeting held in the Press Club in Gandhinagar and later met police commissioner Gautam Sawang. They promised Sawang that they will not disrupt law and order in the name of caste and religious meetings.

They came to a conclusion to put an end to the row and decided not to argue further over the book written by Professor Kancha Ilaiah. Social JAC went ahead and further promised Vysya Community leaders that necessary modifications to the book will be proposed in the interest of Vysya community as it has hurt their sentiments.
