Special teams in Goa to trace missing I-T official

COIMBATORE:Two special teams from Coimbatore city police are camping in Goa to trace the deputy commissioner of income tax department who went missing from his residence on October 13.


S Sivakumar, 38, was residing with wife Sridevi and two children at Meadows Apartment at Cheran Maa Nagar. His father was a retired IPS officer. Sivakumar was a 2008 batch IRS officer and has been working as the deputy commissioner (headquarters) in the income tax department, Coimbatore.


He went out of his residence in the wee hours of October 13 after fighting with his wife and did not return home. His family members lodged a complaint with the Peelamedu police who registered a man missing case on October 16. A team of police visited Mangaluru where he was staying in a lodge and he vacated his room and went to Goa.


Following a tip-off, two special teams have been camping in Goa to trace him. Police said he left his mobile phone, credit and debit cards at his residence. So, it is not easy to trace his whereabouts.
