BENGALURU: The district administration, along with the police, raided a brick kiln in Avalahalli and rescued six bonded labours including three women and also four children aged between 10 months and 5 years.

A bonded labourer who had managed to escape a month ago informed the officers that his wife and two children were working in the brick kiln for the past 10 years were not allowed to leave the place.
According to SARPAM, an NGO, “The rescued people were trafficked from Vellore by the owner with the help of an aide .

The owner, RCB Muniraju, from Gundur, was involved in a similar case in 2013 where five bonded labourers including two kids were rescued. He also had sexually abused a female child. He was then charged under IPC 370, sections of the Bonded Labour (Abolition) Act and POCSO”.
