VIJAYAWADA: CRDA Commissioner Ch Sridhar on Saturday interacted with the first batch of farmers going to Singapore tour sponsored by the CRDA. The first batch will be leaving for Singapore on October 30 on a four-day tour. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will give them a send-off by flagging of the bus transporting them to Shamshabad Airport. Sridhar said as per the agreement of both AP and Singapore governments, the Singapore tour programme for the capital region farmers, who gave their lands under Land Pooling Scheme was arranged.

According to him, the main objective of the visit to Singapore was to show the farmers as to how the development happened in Singapore and the living standards of the people there. Singapore has provided the master plan for the capital city and is also playing a key role in development of start-up area in the capital city - Amaravati.

“It is a good opportunity for the farmers to clear their doubts as to how the land they have given to the State government for the construction of the capital city will be put to use,” he said.
He explained the origin of Singapore and how it became a developed nation after its independence from Malaysia half a decade ago.

The saga of development in Singapore has set a global benchmark for the development in every sphere of activity, he said. Singapore could be perfect template and inspiration for the development, he averred.
