GUWAHATI: The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) will launch a statewide movement against the Marxists in November in tandem with the mammoth rally against the Left front government scheduled in Thiruvananthapuram on November 11.
Describing the Left rule as 'a reign of terror' and the Communist thought as 'violent dogma', national secretary of the ABVP, Simanta Kumar Das, on Friday appealed for mass participation in scheduled protests against the recent attacks on Sangh supporters in Kerala. The Sangh-affiliated students' body will also stage a demonstration against the Communists in NE states on November 2 to expressing solidarity with the victims of organizations affiliated to the Sangh Pariwar.
"The reigns of Communist governments have been marked by bloodshed. A series of attacks on members associated with us and their brutal killings reveal the real face of the Leftists. Kerala is a burning example where the killers are being shielded by the Left front government. The ABVP will protest against this tyranny in Kerala by forming human chains, staging dharnas and through other forms of democratic protest across districts and sakhas in the northeast during the two-day protest," said Das.
He added that over 500 ABVP activists will travel to Kerala to join the massive protest against the Left front government scheduled in Thiruvananthapuram, where about 50,000 members of the organization are scheduled to take part. The ABVP also appealed to intellectuals and believers of democratic ethos to support the protest programme.
Sources said poll-bound Tripura will witness massive protest against the CPM government on the scheduled protest days. "Tripura will definitely be in focus during the movement against the Left oppression. ABVP members in all northeastern states are going to take the protest to the masses in Tripura, expressing solidarity with their associates in Kerala, who are spending horrific days since the Left front returned to power in 2016," said an ABVP insider.
