‘Maha Aarti’ performed at Mahakaal Temple after SC’s decision

After the Supreme Court gave the temple management a free hand to introduce new norms for worship at the Mahakaleshwar temple, including a ban on devotees from offering milk and curd to Shiv Lingam, a restricted ‘Maha Aarti’ was performed in Ujjain’s Mahakaal Temple on Saturday. People in large number gathered at the temple and offered prayers. The court formed a committee of experts that visited the Mahakaleshwar temple in Ujjain recently. The committee has recommended restricting certain offerings by devotees to save the Shiv Lingam.
