GHAZIABAD: The much-awaited online map approval facility for residential plots has been launched in Ghaziabad. The move makes GDA the second development authority in the state to start this facility after Agra Development Authority, GDA officials said.
At present, the online map approval system is limited to residential plots with an area of 300sqm, while it will be extended for all plots later on.
"GDA approved the first map online on Friday, which was for a 300sqm residential plot. The online facility was launched on October 25 from Lucknow by state urban development minister Suresh Khanna," said Ishtiyaq Ahmed, chief architect and town planner, GDA.
To apply for map approval online, users can visit the website www.upobps.in and select the 'Ghaziabad Development Authority' option. They will then have to make an online profile with details such as name, email id and phone number. "Consumers will be provided with a one-time password, after which they can log in for map approval and upload map and the other documents required," Ahmed said.
Users will have to deposit a certain amount as application fee. "After getting confirmation that the consumer has deposited the fee, a message will be generated. This message will reach the map approval authority, who will check if the map is in accordance with building by-laws and other details, and it will be approved. The entire process will take about just a day," Ahmed added.
