A celebration of dance

Treat yourself with a dose of classical dance with Parikrama, a festival being organised by Kalavardhini Charitable Trust with the primary objective of supporting and promoting allied arts. The two-day dance festival will see veteran dancers of today and tomorrow performing under one roof.
Besides Bharatnatyam, the festival brings together the best of other classical dance styles. Bharatnatyam artist Arundhati Patwardhan says, "This will be the ninth edition of Parikrama. The platform has not only gained audience appreciation and has also helped increase public awareness about various performing arts."

- A Kathak performance by Shinjini Kulkarni, grand-daughter of Pandit Birju Maharaj
- New choreography by Kalavardhini Sankul
- Bharatnatyam performance by Meenakshi Srinivasan, who is known for her moving abhinaya and purity in dance technique
October 29
- Samvaad, a symposium. Writer, journalist and dramatist Gowri Ramnarayan, and dance historian Ashish Khokar will talk about subjects related to dance.
- A closing Kathak performance by Maneesha Sathe and a Bharatnatyam performance by Sangeet Natak Akademi Awardee Dr Sucheta Bhide Chapekar
