NEW DELHI: Shares of oil & gas companies, including Hindustan Petroleum Corporation (down 3.68 per cent), Indian Oil Corporation (down 1.86 per cent), Oil India (down 1.02 per cent), Indraprastha Gas (down 0.38 per cent) and Reliance Industries (down 0.21 per cent) were losing in Friday's morning trade.

The S&P BSE Oil & Gas index was trading 0.53 per cent down at 16,469 around 10:20 am (IST).

However, shares of Petronet LNG (up 1.01 per cent), Castrol India (up 0.84 per cent), GAIL (India) (up 0.68 per cent), Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (up 0.59 per cent) and Bharat Petroleum Corporation (up 0.27 per cent) were gaining in trade around that time.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was 7 points up at 10,350, while the BSE Sensex was 71 points up at 33,218.

Shares of RIL, JP Associates, YES Bank, SAIL, JSW Energy, Vedanta Ltd, PNB, RattanIndia Pwr, SBI, Indiabulls Housing Finance, Jain Irrigation, GAIL were among the most traded securities on the National Stock Exchange.

Adani Ports, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Maruti Suzuki, Cipla, ITC, Larsen & Toubro, Hero MotoCorp and Sun Pharma were trading as the top gainers in the Sensex index.

However, Bharti Airtel, ICICI Bank, Wipro, State Bank of India, Hindustan Unilever, Axis Bank and Tata Steel were the top losers in the Sensex kitty.
