Apple has made the beta version of macOS High Sierra 10.13.1 public. And with this a plethora of emojis have arrived. It is available as a part of Apple’s developer beta program.

These emojis are quite interesting in their nature. They are mostly gender neutral, attempting to accommodate various cultures, breaking stereotypes. Apple seems to be attempting to make a point, and with emojis at that.
The most interesting set of emojis are mythical creatures, where a male and female version of each has been given. What better way to break stereotypes than this? These also include, merpersons (gender neutral term for mermaids), fairies, vampires, zombies, mages and genies.
Another way it has been shown are emojis representing day to day activities like climbing or yoga. Meanwhile, it has included faces of gender neutral child, young adult and adult.
Others included the much talked about one of a breastfeeding woman and a 'person', not a woman specifically, with a headscarf. The latter emojis were first proposed by a 15 year old girl from Saudi Arabia. Other emojis include open palms joined together, objects such as a coat, scarf, socks. Clearly signs of the coming winter season.
Interestingly, in 2017, Apple had introduced 69 new emojis, out of which the human ones were mostly gender neutral.
According to Mashable, those who are not beta testers may have to wait for sometime before they can use these emojis. The update is also expected to be a part of the iOS 11.1 release. It is expected to be released simultaneously with the iPhone X on 3 November.
With the release of iPhone X, Animojis shall be released as well. Here, the iPhone X's TrueDepth camera system will be used to map your facial expression to 3D emoji characters. These will then be able to play this back to the receiver. At launch, 12 animoji characters will be available to use.
