Man wanted in dacoity case killed in firing by Andhra Police

A person wanted in a dacoity case was today killed and another man injured in firing allegedly by the Police in Rajasthan's Jalore district.

A woman was also killed after being hit by the car of the suspect which was being chased by the Andhra Police.


"A three-member team of the Police was chasing the car of Bheem Singh and Purohit. Singh had been evading arrest in a dacoity case," Additional SP Jalore Jassaram Bose said.

Singh lost control over the car and it hit Damta Jogi, 55, leading to her death.

The Andhra Police opened fire on the duo leading to the death of Singh, while Purohit was injured.

The Police said their Andhra counterparts did not inform them about the operation beforehand.
