Man held for assaulting daughter

Vasco: Vasco police arrested a man on Friday for assaulting his minor daughter with a knife to her neck. The incident occurred when his wife and he were quarrelling and the daughter came to her mother's rescue.

On Thursday night the duo started quarrelling in their house in Vasco. During the course of the fight, the husband took a knife to attack his wife but their 13-year-old daughter came in between. Vasco police said it was then that the father assaulted his daughter.

She was immediately taken to a hospital and doctors said she had minor injuries.

The mother lodged a complaint under the children's act and domestic violence act. The police arrested him. The accused is in four days police custody.
