Vizag’s heavy metal band Against Evil will be seen in the Telugu film ‘Vunnadi Okate Zindagi’

Vizag based heavy metal band Against Evil is scaling new heights ever since it released its debut album ‘Fatal Assault’ two years ago. The band’s first music video of the new song ‘Stand up and fight!’ that came out last year not only received rave reviews, it has now caught the attention of the Telugu film industry. The band will be next seen in the Telugu film ‘Vunnadi Okate Zindagi’ starring Ram Pothineni, Anupama Parmeswaran and Lavanya Tripathi. Slated to release this weekend, the film is the directed by Kishore Tirumala of Nenu Sailaja fame.

“The production house was searching for a rock band from Visakhapatnam that would fit into the profile of the lead character, who plays a rockstar in the film. On seeing our latest music video ‘Stand up and Fight’, the team was impressed by the way we shot it and our styling. And reached out to us,” says Sravan, the band’s rhythm guitarist and vocalist.

Featuring in two songs

The band features in two songs in the film that has been shot extensively in Vizag. “The song ‘Life is a Rainbow’ is a complete live concert setup with audience cheering for the band, whereas as the second song ‘Rayyi Rayyi Mantu’ is a love song where the band practices amidst the scenes between the hero and heroine,” says Sravan.

The heavy metal band formed in 2014 by Shasank (lead guitar), Siri (vocals / bass), Sravan (vocals/guitar) and Noble John (drums) play their unique style of music inspired by bands from the 80’s such as Judas Priest, Megadeth, Accept, and Black Sabbath. Rolling Stones India termed the it as the ‘Best Emerging Band’ while it went on to win a slew of awards for the ‘Best Emerging Artistes’ at the national level following the release of their debut album.

New album

The band is now in gearing up for the launch of its next album. “The recording process is done. The mixing and mastering will be completed by December after which we plan to release it by January next year,” the band members say. The new album is being done on a big scale with a budget of Rs 3 lakh. “We have given it a lot of time to bring out our best and something that we will be different for the heavy metal scene,” they sum up.
