Days after the National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrested Hizbul Mujahideen chief Syed Salahuddin’s son Shahid Yousuf in a 2011 terror funding case, the agency carried out searches at his house on Thursday morning.

A team of NIA officials searched Yousuf’s house at Soibugh Budgam, native village of Hizb chief Salahuddin. According to police officials, to prevent any clash, the NIA officials chose to conduct the search at 7 am when most of the people are asleep.

“The NIA carried out searches at the house of arrested accused Shahid Yousuf at village Soibugh Budgam in connection with the case RC-6/2011/NIA/DLI,” said the Public Relations Officer of NIA. “During the search, the NIA seized five mobile (phones), two hard discs, a laptop, incriminating documents and other electronic devices”.
