GUNTUR: The first phase of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) works would be completed by December 2018 at Mangalagiri in Guntur district. Health Minister Kamineni Srinivas visited AIIMS and held a review meeting with Revenue, APSPDCL, R&B and Forest department officials at Mangalagiri on Wednesday.
Kamineni said outpatient block and resident buildings would come up in the first phase. He said that hospital and medical college buildings would come up in the second phase and added that tender process would be completed in November for second phase of works.
The Minister said that AIIMS admission process would begin from 2018 and equipment and other facilities would be set up in the third phase. He said that NDRF would be allotted another place within six months, which has set up its base at present at AIIMS venue.
District Collector K Sasidhar, DFO K Rammohan Rao and other officials were present at the meeting.
