Traffic restrictions will be in place in the city from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday in connection with President Ramnath Kovind’s visit.
Traffic and parking will be restricted along the airport, Shangumughom, All Saints, Chaka Bypass, Venpalavattom, Akkulam, Kuzhivila, Mukkolakkal, Attinkuzhi, Technopark, Kazhakuttam, Vetturoad, Pallipuram and Mangalapuram from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Along the stretch through Pettah, Pattoor, General Hospital, Asan Square, Martyrs Column, R.R. Lamp, Museum, Vellayambalam, Rajbhavan, Kowdiar, Vellayambalam and Vazhuthacaud, traffic restrictions will be in place from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The heavy vehicles coming along the NH should take the diversion from Moonnumukku in Attingal and head towards Elamba-Venjaramoodu route, from 1 p.m. onwards. Rest of the vehicles need to take a diversion from Mangalapuram Junction and take the Pothencode-Kattayikonam-Sreekaryam route.
On Saturday, traffic and parking restrictions will be in place along the Rajbhavan, Vellayambalam, Museum, R.R. Lamp, Palayam, V.J.T. Hall, Asan Square, General Hospital, Pattoor, Nalumukku, Pettah, Chakka, All Saints, Shanghumughom route from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m.
No parking will be allowed along the Kowdiar, Vellayambalam, Museum, R.R. Lamp, Palayam, V.J.T. Hall, Asan Square, General Hospital, Pattoor, Nalumukku, Pettah, Chaaka road and the Airport-Chakka road and the Kazhakuttam-Kovalam bypass road.
Those heading to the domestic airport need to avoid the Kazhakuttam-Kovalam bypass route and take the Mangalapuram-Murukkumpuzha-Menankulam-Thumba-Veli- Madhavapuram-All Saints route.
