Speed Institute to train students for competitive exams

While the school education department has announced that it will be opening coaching centres across the State to help students prepare for competitive exams, an MoU was signed with Speed Institute by the department on Wednesday.

The private institute, which has been conducting coaching classes for medical entrance examination, will partner with the education department in setting up and conducting classes in 412 coaching centres in Tamil Nadu.

Minister for School Education K.A. Sengottaiyan said that in the first phase, 100 centres would be opened, following which the rest of the coaching centres would begin functioning from January. “13,240 students from government and government-aided schools have registered for the coaching classes so far, and since we have extended the admissions till the end of October, we expect around 20,000 students to register. An MoU for a three-year period has been signed with the Speed Institute, which will facilitate the classes free of cost,” he said. The classes will be conducted through video conferencing and transmitted through V-SAT technology to schools.
