Solar lights to light up villages

GUNTUR: Solar lights will soon light up Durgi and Veldurthi mandals of Guntur district. Narasaraopet MP Rayapati Sambasiva Rao said that Power Finance Corporation Limited has come forward to instal solar lights and solar panels at a cost of `2.05 crore in villages of Veldurthi and Durgi mandals of Guntur district.

Sambasiva Rao met Power Finance Corporation Limited Chairman and Managing Director Rajeev Sharma in New Delhi on Wednesday and sought his cooperation for the development of backward Palnadu region in Guntur district as part of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.

The MP said that corporate companies have come forward to take up development works in Palnadu with CSR funds. He said that Power Finance Corporation Limited will instal solar lights in villages of Durgi mandal, and RO plants and solar units will be set up at government hospitals and schools in Veldurthi mandal.
