TIRUPATI: Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) Vice-Chairperson V Valli Kumari, who was appointed by the State government to conduct an inquiry into malpractices in Sri Venkateswara University, has finished the process and will submit report to the Minister for Human Resources Development soon.

“The inquiry has been conducted and I met several people, every staff concerned, faculty and officials, including SVU Registrar and Rector. They were given questionnaire and I got written answers,” she told reporters here on Wednesday. “There were certain lapses - some procedural mistakes and some committed mistakes,” she said.

“I will explain every finding with details and evidence in my report and also conduct inquiry with some more agencies, if needed. Necessary arrangements to produce the documents through the inquiry agencies will be done,” she said. Medically-invalid recruitment, appointment of outsourcing staff  without following reservation system, appointment of academic consultants etc were some of the irregularities among the 17 irregularities mentioned in a complaint to the State government and the Higher Education Ministry. She has visited the university twice and interacted with at least 150 persons for the purpose.
“If need be at the time of preparation of report, I will visit the university again,” she said.
