Akshaye Khanna to host a special screening of Ittefaq for Dil Chahta Hai co-star Aamir Khan
The last time we saw the actors Akshaye Khanna and Aamir Khan together and reveled in their camaraderie was way back in 2001 when they appeared in Farhan Akhtar's debut film Dil Chahta Hai along with Saif Ali Khan.
The trio, Akash, Sameer and Siddharth, played by Aamir, Saif and Akshaye became Bollywood's most loved guy gang as they were real, relateable and relevant in contemporary times. Although after Dil Chahta Hai, there have been many bromance films, none could match the popularity of the 2001 film amid Indian audiences.

'Friends are forever' is a phrase that pretty much applies to these actors in real life also. Even after 16 years, their friendship (off-screen) remains intact. Akshaye and Aamir always kept in touch even after they were done with Dil Chahta Hai.
Recently Aamir had invited Akshaye for the special screening of his recently-released film Secret Superstar that stars Aamir's Dangal co-actor Zaira Wasim in the lead role.
While having a chat Aamir told Akshaye that he was intrigued by the trailer of Akshaye's upcoming film Ittefaq and is looking forward to watching the film, said a source close to the actors.
Akshaye is all set to fulfill his friend's wish. Reportedly, Khanna has told the makers of the film to organise a special screening of the film soon for Aamir. It is speculated that Akshaye will himself host the screening.
Ittefaq is a crime-thriller that stars Akshaye Khanna, Sidharth Malhotra and Sonakshi Sinha in lead roles. It is slated to release on 3 November this year.
