K.S. Vasudeva Sharma, 82, political secretary of former Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, died on Wednesday. He is survived by his wife and two children. The funeral will be held at Chengannur on Thursday.
Sharma was political secretary to Mr. Chandy from 2004 to 2006 and 2011 to 2016.
His political base was Alappuzha where he served as District Congress Committee president. He had served as president of the Kerala State Cooperative Bank and chairman of the Kerala State Financial Enterprises. Mr. Chandy, in his condolence message, remembered his long association with Sharma, who had steadfastly upheld the glorious traditions of the Congress.
