NEW DELHI: They say that the next best thing to solving a problem is finding some humour in it. Well, a Gurgaon man's funny take after being stuck with the cancellation charges for a cab not only got him his money back, but also scored him two hot and delicious samosas.
Here's what happened:
On October 21, Gurgaon resident Abhishek Asthana, aka Twitter user @GabbarSingh, booked a ride with a cab aggregator service from the airport for himself and his brother, but his driver cancelled the ride and he was forced to pay the cancellation fee. Instead of complaining about it, he posted a hilarious analogy of his ordeal on Twitter.
"Yesterday, Ola charged cancellation fee even when the driver denied duty, it's like you ask 'Samosa hai?', shopkeeper says 'No' and takes Rs 10," he tweeted on Sunday.
The cab service responded to his tweet the very next day, informing him that the charges had been reversed and then took the samosa analogy a step further.
"Charges reversed and sorry for the trouble. Now, where do we send the samosas?" the official handle of Ola Cabs tweeted.
Proving that the response was not mere lip service, the cab company called up Asthana and delivered a steaming package at his residence on Wednesday.
Well played indeed, Ola.
