Hours after Hadiya-Akhila's shocking video emerged, her husband Shefin Jahan requested Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan to intervene.

In the petition given to the Chief Minister, Shefin mentioned that Hadiya, who has been under house arrest for over 5 months is going through severe human rights violation.

The video released on Thursday by social activist Rahul Eashwar, shows Hadiya-Akhila narrating her tales of being brutalised by her father and foreboding her untimely death.

'I want to get out of here. I may get killed today or tomorrow. My father is getting really angry on me and he is bashing and kicking me. There may be injuries on my body, head or neck...' says Hadiya-Akhila in the video.

In this regard, Shefin also requested that home department to take suo moto action based on the video.

Akhila who embraced Islam and named herself Hadiya, was sent to live with her family after Kerala High Court annulled her marriage with Shefin Jahan.
