President Ram Nath Kovind on Wednesday said India was looking towards Karnataka to provide the country with enlightenment, technology and unity of purpose.
Addressing the joint session of the state legislature to mark the diamond jubilee celebration of the Vidhana Soudha, Kovind said, "There was a time when Hampi was one of the richest and greatest cities in the world. Today, as our country strives to regain its importance in the global economy and international system, we look at Karnataka once again".
In his brief speech, Kovind said Karnataka's contribution to the intellectual, democratic heritage of the country had been enormous.
