US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson arrived in Delhi on his maiden India visit. He had a meeting with external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj. He promised that the United States will provide the "best technology" for India’s military modernisation. He condemned terrorism and those who provide "safe havens" to terrorists. He said, “India and US are natural allies, we stand shoulder to shoulder against terror.” Tillerson acknowledged India’s contribution to development in Afghanistan, including the construction of Afghan parliament building.
