System to help monitor implementation of various schemes

Telangana State District Monitoring System (TSDMS), also known as Collector’s Dashboard, developed by the TS Planning Department was unveiled by Special Chief Secretary B.P. Acharya here on Wednesday. Through this system, the departments concerned will be in a position to monitor implementation of various schemes in a systematic manner as data will be consolidated on a single screen.

The system has been developed in collaboration with the Centre for Good Governance (CGG) and was initially tested in the four pilot districts of Rangareddy, Mahabubnagar, Warangal (U) and Mancherial. Collectors of these pilot districts helped in identifying important indicators to monitor and also provided feedback. Rangareddy District Collector B. Raghunandhan Rao was present during the launch.

The system will be available to all the Collectors as a monitoring tool which comprises 90 parameters from 20 major departments. Out of 90 parameters, 75% were captured online and 25 % were captured by manual entry. Since most parameters were being captured from the web portals of the respective departments, the district administration would be able to access the dynamic information from the various departments periodically.

Later, Mr. Acharya presented certificates to the district staff for having successfully completed the ‘e-learning modules’ taken up by the Centre’s Department of Personnel and Training. Telangana was one of the four States selected by the Central Government for this pilot project where 9,000 field staff were trained in different soft skills over a period of three months, a press release said.
