Two held for duping a TN man with fake job in Maldives

Two persons were today arrested for allegedly duping a man from on the pretext of providing him a job overseas, police said.

Mohammed Zeeshan Ali (37) and his associate Shariq Ahmed (27) were arrested from the city after a resident Packeer Mohamed Ali (37) lodged a complaint against Ali for taking money promising him a job in the Maldives, an officer of Police said.


"Zeeshan acted as the proprietor of an organisation and took money amounting to Rs 4.10 lakh from the complainant on the pretext of arranging for him a job in the Maldives," he said adding that by questioning Zeeshan police go through to his associate Shariq.

Zeeshan and Ahmed also forged documents, fabricated visas, work permits, company appointment letters, he added.

Huge documents including fake visas, counterpart of deposit slips, agreement papers, offer letters meant for other candidates, air tickets as well as 13 bounced cheques and documents related to a hotel in the Malidives were also seized from Zeeshan, the officer said.
