Zinc futures down 0.69 per cent

Press Trust of India  |  New Delhi

Zinc prices drifted lower by Rs 1.45 to Rs 209.50 per kg in futures trade today as traders trimmed positions amid subdued demand from consuming industries at the spot markets.

At the Multi Commodity exchange, zinc for delivery this month contracts fell by Rs 1.45, or 0.69 per cent, to Rs 209.50 per kg, in a business turnover of 1,573 lots.

Metal for delivery in November too fell by Rs 1.30, or 0.62 per cent, to trade at Rs 207.75 per kg in 45 lots.

Analysts attributed the fall in zinc futures to trimming of positions by participants, tracking a weak trend at the spot markets on slackened demand from consuming industries.
