WARANGAL: In yet another incident of academic pressure, a BTech first year student of NIT-Warangal on Tuesday allegedly attempted suicide by hanging from the ceiling. However, timely action by his roommate saved his life. The student is a native of Sangareddy district. According to Dean (Student Welfare) SVS Ramana Reddy, the student was reportedly under stress with regard to his  performance in academics following which he took the extreme step.

“He is responding well to medical treatment. We hope him to join soon,” he said. He said the student, who is undergoing treatment in corporate hospital in the city, would be given counseling after he recovers completely. Sources said the student attempted suicide when no one was in the room. However, his roommate, who had forgotten his book, came to collect it.
