Sanjay Dutt opts out of Malang; Director Omung Kumar says 'we are looking for younger actors'
Days after the reports of Sanjay Dutt quitting
The Good Maharaja surfaced, the actor has now left another Omung Kumar-Sandeep Singh film titled
Malang.

Right after the team wrapped up shooting for
Bhoomi, Sanjay was announced as the
lead in Malang. The film was to go on floors in December. While the industry speculates Dutt lost his faith with Omung Kumar after
the Bhoomi debacle, the director said that Dutt is not best suited for the movie and the script requires someone younger.
As Sanjay Dutt's comeback movie with director Omung Kumar,
Bhoomi, was a total wash out at the box office, it is reported that Dutt is no more willing to take risk with the same makers. But the filmmaker
has cited schedule conflicts and dates issues as the reason of the fallout.
Malang is a story of a woman CBI officer and a man looking for love. The movie would mark the directorial debut of Aarambhh Singh who had worked on Bhoomi as an associate director, reports Mumbai Mirror.
Omung, co-producer of Malang, confirmed the news as saying, “Malang will start next year. We are looking at young actors for the lead and are already in talks with a couple of them who have shown interest.”
“We met Sanjay Dutt and learnt that his schedule is hectic, with
Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster 3 and
Torbaaz. He has always supported us but since his dates were not aligning with ours, we mutually decided to let it go. The story and screenplay remain the same. We are just giving it a younger look and feel. The hero should be able to do both romance and action," he added.
