The fourth in its series, India’s Most Attractive Brands Report 2017 (MAB), has highlighted the country’s top 1000 brands based on attractiveness, as per consumer perceptions based on a primary research methodology. Though the leading brand in the list Samsung is Delhi based, overall Delhi lags behind Mumbai with 215 brands as compared to the commercial capital’s 239.
It is interesting to note that 9 of the top 20 brands in the list are from NCR. Some of the NCR-based Category leaders include Dabur rank 48 in Ayurveda category, NDTV, ranks at 111, Paytm, leads the Digital Wallets category at all-India 135th rank, Indian ethnicwear women’s fashion brand BIBA stands at 209th rank and Mankind Pharma is stands at 272 rank.
In the all-India list, Samsung, which has reclaimed top spot among India’s Most Attractive brands with a third place in 2016. LG and Sony have both dropped a rank lower respectively from the 2016 report to take the second and third rank this year. Tata, after falling by almost three ranks in 2016 has come back to hold its position to rank fourth in 2017. Honda ranks fifth. The sixth Most Attractive brand in 2017 is Apple, which has steadily climbed to this position after ranking 18th in 2016.
“Brands are like people and ‘personalities’ of brands from a city can say something about the city. 33 brands from NCR region make it to India’s top 100 Most Attractive list, with Samsung topping the list nationally,” commented N Chandramouli, CEO, TRA Research.
