WGSHA hosts hospitality students from Canada

The visitors will get to learn Indian cuisine and food culture

The students of George Brown College, Toronto in Canada, are back at Welcomgroup Graduate School of Hotel Administration (WGSHA) for a week-long boot camp where they will get to learn Indian cuisine and food culture. According to a press release issued by Manipal University here on Tuesday, the first day on Monday was set aside for orientation where the students were formally welcomed the traditional way. The camp continues till October 28.

The Canadian and Indian national anthems were played, the traditional lamp was lit, and tributes paid to Dr. T.M.A. Pai, founder of Manipal University.

Parvadhavardhini Gopalakrishnan, principal of WGSHA, in her address spoke on the importance and distinctness of the Indian cuisine and health beneficial Vedic roots. Chef Thiru, Vice-Principal of WGSHA, gave a brief of the 2016 boot camp with a presentation of slides. Raghu A.R., director, international collaboration, Manipal University, also spoke on the occasion. The visitors were then provided a glimpse of Indian culture and tradition through different dance forms.
