Nail paint brand creates world’s longest manicure bar; sets Guinness World Record

To create the world's largest manicure brand, the nail paint brand created a 155 feet long manicure bar sprawled out along Santa Monica's famous 3rd Street Promenade shopping area. Over 50 nail technicians were seated along the bar giving event attendees manicures.

There is no end of the bizarre and strange things in the world. And more often not it is the Guinness Book of World Records that documents such exceptional tales. Only recently news of a science teacher from Mumbai Dinesh Shivnath Upadhyaya, creating a Guinness World Record by stuffing 22 lit candles in his mouth was widely shared. And now in another part of the world an American nail polish brand OPI has set a Guinness World Record for creating ‘The Worlds Longest Manicure Bar’. The record was set on October 21 at an event held in Santa Monica here.

To achieve the goal, the brand created a 155 feet long manicure bar sprawled out along Santa Monica’s famous 3rd Street Promenade shopping area. Over 50 nail technicians were seated along the bar giving event attendees manicures, read a statement. Several celebrities and influencers were in attendance, including actress Peyton List and Tom Bachik, celebrity manicurist.

“It was a very exciting moment for OPI to achieve a Guinness World Record for Longest Manicure Bar! To see so many nail technicians and so many fans come together to do something as grand and fun as setting a world record was a real treat,” said Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Co-Founder and Brand Ambassador. The record was officially set and declared at 5 pm on October 21, with more than 500 manicures completed.

The 63rd edition of the Guinness Book of World Record for 2017-18 is filled with extraordinary stories photos and inspiring tales of record-breaking triumphs. Russian model Ekaterina Lisina holds the new title for the longest legs (female). Her pins are an unparalleled 132.8cm long for the left leg and 132.2cm long for the right leg. Ayanna Williams with 576.4cm of nail power holds the record of the longest fingernails on a pair of hands.
