Honda has a new scooter in the pipeline, bookings are open and we are expecting it to launch on the 2nd week of November. The scooter christened the Grazia has been pegged as an urban scooter, contrasting to the Cliq which was launched earlier this year. Honda s calling it an advanced urban scooter, which means that it will probably sit more premium than the Honda Activa. Which up until now has been the backbone of HMSI existence in the subcontinent? Up until now, Honda has been pretty tight-lipped about the Grazia which is likely to share its engine and cycle parts with the Activa 125. However, now Honda has both released a trailer and teased a few images of what we could expect from their new Grazia. Bookings for the scooter have opened as of the 25th of October at a rather nominal amount of Rs. 2,000 across Honda dealerships. The Grazia which ditches the tradition smooth flowing Honda lines for an edgier, more youthful design. We would say that it has the early makings of what the Dio was for Honda with a slightly more premium edge! As per spy shots, we showcased earlier this month, Honda’s Grazia is likely to get a wider Apron than the Activa as well as more space on the footboard.

The Grazia being a premium scooter, also get alloy wheels and will likely also get Honda’s Combi-braking system with front disc brakes, and a dual tone paint scheme (which seems to have become the poster boy for premium aesthetics). The Grazia’s instrument cluster will feature a digital display, a shade away from what we have seen up until now from Honda. It gets a whole host of convenient cubbies as well as a USB charging outlet for mobile phones and devices, something that will set it apart from the competition and also attract the younger crowd. We expect the Grazia to sit slightly above Honda’s Activa at about Rs. 65,000 and will take on the like of the SR125 once launched. Until then watch the video or check out our more detailed story for more.
