KOCHI: Aryanandha Creations, a film-related company recently launched a new mobile application ‘Mollywood Diary’, where Malayalam films can be viewed just a hand click away. The app is an insight into various fields of Mollywood along with its other features.The app is very helpful for all movie lovers. “ We started this mobile app to link and coordinate different sectors of cinema. It intends to help people who dream about becoming a part of films and who are in search of opportunities,” said Lakshmi Deeptha, Head of the company and an assistant director in Malayalam cinema. The app can also be freely downloaded in ios and android phones.
The mobile app consists of the details of directors, actors, editors, producers, photographers, costume designers, make-up artists, art directors, dance masters and lyricists. The application also contains information on studios that have dubbing, VFX, animation and editing facility to help the budding short film makers or ad-makers.
People looking for a suitable location for shooting films are able to access a nearby place through this app. Those who have good stories in hand and are in need of a producer can register in this app after giving a brief of their story. Details on the different types of equipments needed for shooting films such as camera, gimbal, light, helicam and gib are also available through the app.]
An icon ‘Talented’ is available in various categories which includes cameraman, actors, editing, dubbing and contacts of people who are not a part of the mainstream media is also available. This will help in bringing forward these artists in the eyes of filmmakers. Information on artist coordinators and casting calls is also provided to help people who aspires to become an actor.
Sreelal Prasad, an artist and PRO of the company said that the company was started by a group of people working in cinema and it functions now for cinema. “We initially did portfolio making and now we are working on this application. We are also working towards launching an exclusive film magazine titled ‘Lensqueen’, he said. Deeptha highlighted that this upcoming magazine will concentrate more on crew members working behind the camera than on actors.
About 500 people have downloaded the application within two weeks of its launch. The company is reaching the customers through advertisements and social media platforms. Through the application, people interested to work in technical or other sections of cinema can register and fulfill their passion for films.
