NOIDA: The Noida Authority on Wednesday invited suggestions from the public on setting up of a municipal body to take care of civic issues in the urban areas of Gautam Budh Nagar.
Those interested can send their suggestions to R K Mishra, additional CEO, Noida Authority via email or letter by November 5.
Mishra is the convenor of the committee set up under the supervision of divisional commissioner Prabhat Kumar to analyse municipal work in the district and examine whether there was a need to set up a separate body for municipal functions. "Those interested can email us at com.civicgbn@gmail.com or send letters to the Noida Authority office located in Sector 6. People can also submit their suggestions in person to me," Mishra said.
"Once we have all the suggestions and even objections against the proposal, we will examine each of them and thereafter take the proposal to the next level. These suggestions will be viewed in terms of administrative, legal and financial parameters and civic services," he said.
Mishra said the suggestions will be discussed in a meeting next month. "The committee will also analyse the municipal work presently being undertaken by the development authorities. We are trying our level best to come up with every possible measure to ensure better municipal functioning," he said.
On September 4, district magistrate B N Singh had recommended shifting of municipal functions from Noida Authority to the state government. He had written to the three-member cabinet committee set up by chief minister Yogi Adityanath suggesting that a municipal body be formed on the lines of the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) or the one similar to Ghaziabad Nagar Nigam.
