UP man found dead in Zuari river

Ponda: Ponda police have retrieved the body of Vakil Rajbhor, 30, a native of Uttar Pradesh from the Zuari river at Mapa, Panchwadi, in Ponda on Wednesday afternoon. Police say that the cause of his death would be revealed after the autopsy.

The person was working as a casual labourer and was staying with three others in a rented room at Mapa. He had gone to the river, as usual, for bathing in the afternoon, while his roommates were sleeping after lunch.

His roommates told police that as he did not return, they went to search for him and found his body floating in the water. A case of unnatural death has been registered at the Ponda police station and PSI Paresh Sinari is the investigation officer.
