NOIDA: Noida Authority on Wednesday has issued a public notice inviting all stakeholders to submit their views regarding the setting up of a dedicated municipal body to look into the civic woes of district Gautam Budh Nagar, which includes areas of Noida, Greater Noida and Yamuna Expressway. Suggestions have been invited from people across all walks of life via email or letters to R.K Mishra, Additional CEO Noida Authority.
Mishra—who is the convenor of the committee set up under the leadership of the divisional commissioner (Meerut), Prabhat Kumar to analyse the municipal work in the district and examine whether there was a need to set up a separate body for carrying out municipal functions—said that stakeholders can send their suggestions by November 5, 2017. "Stakeholders can email at com.civicgbn@gmail.com or via letters deposited at the Noida Authority offices located in sector 6. People can also submit their suggestions in person to me," Mishra said.
Mishra further explained that the aim is to establish best municipal practises for the district. "Once we have all the suggestions and even objections against the proposal, we will examine each of them and thereafter discuss the proposal at the next level," he said. These suggestions will be viewed in terms of administrative, legal and financial parameters and civic services in the best interest of the city," he explained. "These will be reviewed and discussed in our next meeting to be held next month," he added. "The committee will also analyse the municipal work being undertaken presently by the development authorities in the district to decide whether there is a requirement for a separate municipal body or not. We are trying our level best to come up with every possible measure to ensure better municipal functioning," he said.
On September 4, 2017, GB Nagar District Magistrate B.N Singh had recommended separation of municipal functions from purview of Noida Authority to the Uttar Pradesh government. He had written to the three group of Ministers suggesting that a municipal body be formed on the lines of the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) or that similar to Ghaziabad Nagar Nigam. The DM had then also suggested a feedback be taken on the issue from all stakeholders of the district.
