A 30-year-old IT professional from Pune, who had recently moved to Gurgaon after landing a job with American Express, was found dead at her apartment on Monday.
Police said Mayura Sode had committed suicide and left behind a note apologizing to her parents and saying that her love life had failed. She did not blame anyone for the step she took.
On Monday evening, two of Mayura's friends had gone to her flat at Mahindra Aura in New Palam Vihar after repeated attempts to reach her over phone failed. The friends called guards at the condominium, who peeped through an open window to find Mayura hanging from a ceiling fan, police said.
Police said Mayura had been working with the Amex for the last four months.
Police said a one-page suicide note was found near her body. "In her note, she said sorry mummy-papa, I cannot carry forward. She said she had failed in her love life," inspector Deepak Kumar, SHO of Bajghera police station, said. "After getting information, her father, Manohar Ramdas Sode, and other family members reached Gurgaon on Tuesday. They too did not blame anyone. We handed over her body after an autopsy. When we reached her flat, her body was found hanging from a duppatta from the fan," Kumar added.
