Jaipur: Panic prevailed at a private school in Vaishali Nagar area of the city when school administration on Tuesday received an email stating planting of three bombs in the school which will go off later in the day. After search, evacuation and following standard operating practice (SOP), it turned out to be a hoax.
According to police, the school administration informed the police on Tuesday that three bombs will go off in the Jayshree Periwal High School by noon. The school administration immediately informed the police. A large number of policemen rushed to the school and bomb disposal squad along with dog squad were also been brought at the school.
"The school was properly checked while the students were evacuated timely. However, it turned out to be hoax as no bomb was found in the school premises," said Ashok Gupta, deputy commissioner of police (West).
Senior police officers said that the email was received on the official email ID of the school in the morning. "The primary investigation suggested that the email received by the school was sent from Switzerland. There is also a possibility that those behind sending the email could have used to software to misguide the police on the IP address. We are taking the help of cyber experts in this connection," Gupta added.
The search team managed to scan every area of the school, including 60 classrooms, washrooms and other important rooms of the school.
A large number of parents after getting the news through social media and television channels also rushed to the school.
