The South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce on Monday sought action against BJP national secretary H. Raja for allegedly watching portions of Vijay-starrer Mersal online and for insisting that the producers of the film should change certain dialogues after it had been cleared by the CBFC.
In a statement, L. Suresh, president, The South Indian Film Chamber Of Commerce, said, “Leaders are supposed to lead the country, and if they watch a pirated film, what would happen to our industry, which employs more than one million people and produces more than 2,000 films a year?”
“He is liable to be prosecuted for the offence committed under the Tamil Nadu Video Piracy Act and we have already made a complaint to the grievances cell of PMO directly,” he added.
