Chief Secretary S.P. Singh has directed the officials concerned to prepare detailed lists of backlog vacancies pertaining to scheduled castes and scheduled tribes in their respective departments.
He said the Government had extended the deadline for filling the vacant posts till June 30 next year and the officials should accordingly be ready with the lists of vacancies in their respective departments.
The departments should complete the process at the earliest and submit the information to the Telangana State Public Service Commission so that recruitment process could be taken up.
Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao was conducting special reviews on the process of filling backlog vacancies and the departments should accordingly prepare action plans. The departments were also asked to prepare reports on the SC/ST backlog vacancies filled up since formation of the new State on June 2, 2014. According to an official release, of the 178 departments, only 69 had furnished detailed information regarding the SC/ST backlog vacancies so far. The other departments should follow suit at the earliest.
Mr. Singh said he would hold a separate review with the district Collectors about the SC/ST backlog posts and evolve an action plan for taking up the recruitment process.
