Opposition devoted to cash dominated economy: Jaitley

Minister on Tuesday took a dig at the opposition parties over their plan to observe the anniversary of as a 'Black Day' and said the opposition preferred a dominated economy.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes last year on November 8. Jaitley said: "They can definitely observe it (November 8) as black day, it proves their devotion to a dominated economy."

"The government feels the economy should be a less economy, the opposition believes the economy should be dominated," he said.

The opposition parties on Tuesday said they would observe November 8 as Black Day to protest against the government's "ill-conceived and hasty" decision to scrap Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 currency notes a year ago.

Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad told reporters here the opposition parties have worked out a joint strategy to register their protest against the November 8, 2016
