Rohit Shetty’s horror comedy that stars Ajay Devgn continues to entertain the viewers and despite a mixed review from the critics, is still dominating the box office. Golmaal earned a whopping Rs 16 crore plus even on Monday taking its overall collection past Rs 100 crore. The news was confirmed by trade analyst Taran Adarsh. In his tweet, Taran revealed that Golmaal earned Rs 16.04 crore on Monday which took its overall collection to Rs 103.64. “#GolmaalAgain passes the crucial ‘Monday test’ with SOLID numbers… Crosses ₹ 100 cr mark… SUPERB…,” Taran Adarsh said in a tweet. ‘#GolmaalAgain Fri 30.14 cr, Sat 28.37 cr, Sun 29.09 cr, Mon 16.04 cr. Total: ₹ 103.64 cr. India biz,” he added in another tweet.
This is a massive amount that Golmaal has minted given that it clashed with another highly anticipated movie: Secret Superstar which stars Aamir Khan and Zaira Wasim in the lead roles. Golmaal again released across 4232+ screens (3500+ domestic + 732 overseas) while Secret Superstar got a total of 2840 screens (1750 domestic + 1090 overseas), according to a report by Bollywood Hungama.

Directed by Rohit Shetty, Golmaal Again has a stellar star cast which includes Ajay Devgn, Tusshar Kapoor, Arshad Warsi, Parineeti Chopra, Tabu, Kunal Khemmu and Shreyas Talpade. Given the current trend at the box office, both Golmaal Again and Secret Superstar that face little to no competition from other releases are expected to continue to rake in the moolah over the ensuing weekdays.
Despite the massive lead taken by Golmaal Again due to the number of screens on which it released, Secret Superstar has done reasonably well too. It had earned a little over Rs 31 crore till Sunday and is expected to continue the good run.
