With WWE Survivor Series the next PPV on the calendar, the preparations began early between the two WWE brands as Smackdown Live superstars and Commissioner Shane McMahon made a strong impact on WWE Raw to close things out. In Green Bay, Wisconsin on Monday night, an offhand remark by Raw General Manager Kurt Angle came back to hurt his brand.

In what was expected to be a night where Angle was going to announce WWE Raw’s male competitors for the Traditional Survivor Series Elimination Match, things went out of hand. Angle’s remark on Smackdown’s comparitively thin chances touched a nerve and Shane-o-Mac marched his roster through the audience and into the ring to place the show “under siege”.

With The New Day in command and leading the onslaught, the WWE Smackown Live roster picked apart the Raw superstars one after another in the backstage area. Chad Gable went after Jason Jordan, the women’s roster overpowered Sasha Banks & Co., and Baron Corbin even took out a helpless backstage worker.

On the Raw superstar front, Dean Ambrose & Seth Rollins tried to put up a fight but Team Blue overpowered them before leading Angle back to the top of the ramp. Rusev and Corbin took the Raw General Manager to the ring for a face-to-face confrontation with Shane, who delivered the final verbal blow. He commanded Angle to bring his Olympic gold medal and thr roster to Survivor Series with promise of finishing what was started.

In other big development on the night, Brock Lesnar accepted Jinder Mahal’s challenge of a “champion-vs-champion” match at Survivor Series. The Indian wrestler extended the challenge to Lesnar last week and after some mocking of Mahal’s credentials to even be a champion, Lesnar obliged. He promised to deliver the same fate that Randy Orton faced. The Survivor Series will then see Universal Champion Lesnar go head-to-head against WWE champion Mahal on November 19.
