Chennai: Tamil Nadu advocate moved the Supreme Court on Tuesday against a Madras High Court order forbidding a probe on former Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa's death.

The lawyer, Joseph sought the apex court's direction for constituting a commission by a retired judge.

Joseph urged the state assembly to decide on formation of the probe enquiry commission.

In September, retired Madras High Court judge Justice A Arumugasamy was appointed to probe the death of Jayalalithaa after the present chief minister E Palaniswamy announced that a judicial probe would be ordered in the matter.

This decision came after TN minister Sreenivasan revealed that all ministers of the state had lied to the people about hospitalisation and death of AIADMK general secretary J Jayalalithaa and said that only once a closest confidant of Jayalalithaa, VK Sasikala and her family had access to see Amma.

However, expelled AIADMK leader TTV Dinakaran responded to the same stating that former party general secretary V K Sasikala has video of Jayalalithaa while she was hospitalised and he will give the video to the probe committee.
