Police rescued a weaver, who was allegedly kidnapped for his kidney by associates of a money lender a few days ago, for not being able to repay the loan.

Police acted on a submitted by Ravi's wife to the District Collector alleging he was kidnapped by the associates.


In her complaint she said that her husband had borrowed Rs three lakh from the money lender and was regularly paying the interest for the amount.

The associates had allegedly asked him to donate his kidney and settle the loan and took him to Kerala, she alleged.

The Collector forwarded the to the Superintended of Police, Erode, following which he was rescued.

However, Ravi maintained that he was not kidnapped and he had come back on his own.
