Joan Rivers Confidential: Late comedian's biography to feature private letters from Meryl Steep, Tom Hanks
Los Angeles: Late popular comedian-actress Joan Rivers' private letters from stars including Meryl Streep and Tom Hanks will be published in her new biography.
Rivers died in 2014 at the age of 81 after suffering a heart attack during a routine medical procedure.
Though Rivers rarely apologised for her acid tongue, fans will see a softer side to her in new book Joan Rivers Confidential, reports pagesix.com.
While she did make potshots at celebrities, as per her observations, but she never shied away from criticising herself, especially her looks. She once said, "I was so ugly that they sent my picture to Ripley’s Believe It or Not and he sent it back and said, 'I don’t believe it'," as reported by Vanity Fair.

Written by Joan's daughter Melissa Rivers and friend-and-publicist Scott Currie, Joan Rivers Confidential will feature private letters belonging to the Fashion Police star, sent by the likes of Meryl Streep.
Streep and other celebrities including Tom Hanks, David Letterman and Bo Derek have given permission for their private letters to Rivers to be published.
In one of the letters, Streep had written: "Stephen Hawking and I could do a show about black holes, and then, I could disappear into one, a star collapsing in upon itself until it becomes at once invisible and incomparably dense."
According to pagesix.com's report, the book, which is reportedly 336-pages long, is slated to launch on 24 October at Maxwell’s Chophouse in New York.
